FAQ

About this tool

How is in-hand calculated?

Gross is basic + HRA + conveyance + special + other, prorated for paid days. Employee PF is 12% of PF wages (₹15,000 ceiling unless you tick actual). ESI is 0.75% if monthly gross is ₹21,000 or less. Professional tax uses the selected state. TDS and other deductions are what you type.

Can I type CTC instead of every component?

Yes. Enter monthly CTC and leave earnings blank. The tool splits 50% basic, HRA at 40% of basic, conveyance up to ₹1,600, remainder as special allowance, then backs out employer PF and ESI from CTC.

Is this a replacement for payroll software?

No. It is one employee, one month. DWD payroll runs the same math across the company against attendance and leave, then disbursement.

Are PF / ESI / PT rates official?

They follow common FY 2026-27 statutory rates and ceilings. State PT slabs are simplified. Confirm with your consultant before using the slip as the books of record.
